About The Band
Brothers Jonny and Dave, with childhood compatriot Alex, formed the group in Barnstaple, North Devon, in 2007. Having played in various combinations in previous bands, they then enlisted drummer Rob Van-Huysse and built a local fan base as 'The Spinlords of Spintania'.
Their experimental, quirky and humorous style quickly gained them a following and "charmed the pants off" anyone who dared indulge. They gigged regularly in Devon, London and Surrey, where Alex and Dave studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music. It was at this time that Dave also began playing bass for legendary rock band, The Yardbirds.
Rob left the band in 2010 and was replaced by Danish drummer, Claus. This new line-up engendered several changes. Streamlining their name to 'The Spinlords', they reinvented their sound and moved to Brighton to escape the lovely, deadly clutches of North Devon.
In February 2011 they recorded a three song EP at the Metway studio in Brighton. With sexy and terrifying guitar playing, powerful vocals, melodic bassistry and heavy, groove-laden drumming, they are voraciously writing exciting new material.
